McKesson Specialty provides national pharmacy services, focusing on specialty and injectable medications and therapy for patients with complex disease states, such as multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis and hepatitis C.

Benefits of the program include:

  • Supplies for injecting the medication are included, such as needles/syringes, alcohol swabs, and sharps containers, at no additional cost.
  • 24-hour patient access to pharmacists and nurses for medication counseling.
  • Coordination of patient’s pharmacy and medical benefits.
  • Outbound calls for refill coordination.
  • Convenience –delivery in unmarked packaging to assure privacy.

Our partnership with McKesson Specialty may offer you financial benefits as well. If you pay coinsurance (a percentage of the total prescription cost), you will likely have a lower out-of-pocket cost. Also, if you have a maximum yearly and/or lifetime benefit, your coverage may extend even longer.  If you have a copayment (a specific dollar amount for each prescription), it is the same as what you currently pay at your local pharmacy and will be delivered to your home or office.
